CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team split the weekend after falling to Mercer 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 28-26) Saturday evening in McAlister Field House.

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs got the set started as Makaya Middleton put a kill away.
- The teams exchanged points throughout the set and tied back up at 21.
- A Bulldog error began a Mercer 4-1 run, ending the set at 25-22.
- The teams would exchange the first six points before Mercer scored three-straight points to take a 6-3 advantage.
- Mercer would continue to stretch its lead before an Alicia Roberts kill brought the Bulldogs within five.
- The Citadel would get as close as three points on a block from Gina Delancey and Belle Hogan, but Mercer would get a kill to put away the set.
- The Citadel shifted their momentum in the final set and broke away resulting in a 16-12 advantage.
- Mercer was able to come from behind and tie the set back up at 20.
- The team's traded the next few points, but ultimately a kill and a Bulldog error allowed the Bears to end the set at 28-26.
