How it Happened
- Makaya Middleton opened the first set with two kills, and a service error from the Spartans stretched the lead to 7-4.
- The Bulldogs kept a three-point lead until multiple errors from UNCG stretched it to six.
- The Spartans were able to start returning points and pulled within two, but kills from Ali Ruffin and Gina Delancey allowed the Bulldogs to keep the lead and end the set at 25-21.
- Kills from Middleton, Maddy Cardenas and a service ace from Sharlissa de Jesus allowed the Bulldogs to start the second set with a 3-1 lead.
- The Citadel kept the lead until UNCG went on a four-point run and pulled ahead for the first time in the set.
- Another service ace from de Jesus and a kill from Ruffin pulled the Bulldogs within two, but the Spartans took off again on a 10-2 run and ended the set at 25-14.
- The third set saw the Spartans come out strong, but a kill from Delancey tiied the set up at 4-4.
- The teams continued to exchange points, and a kill from Ruffin put the Bulldogs in the lead for the first time in the set at 9-8.
- The set was evenly matched until the Spartans take a four-point lead, but it was quickly returned by The Citadel and the set was tied at 17.

- The fourth set opened with a kill from de Jesus, but it was returned by three from the Spartans.
- Amie Greene subbed in and broke the streak with a kill. Another from Middleton tied the set at 4-4.
- The teams continued to trade points until blocks from Delancey, Greene, and Middleton gave The Citadel their first substantial lead of the set at 16-12.
- UNCG fought their way back and surpassed the Bulldogs, ending the set at 25-22.
