CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel's Selwyn Porter took home the title at 165 pounds and The Citadel Open on Saturday inside McAlister Field House.
 
How it Happened

• After receiving a bye in the opening round, Porter needed 3:41 to secure a fall.
• In the semis, Porter utilized a takedown to defeat Bryson Neace of Duke, 2-0.
• Porter took home the championship at 165 with a 5-3 decision over Donald Cates from NC State.
• Michael McAleavey picked up a pair of victories, including a 16-0 technical fall. He fell in the semis to eventual champion Owen Trephan of NC State.
• Dazjon Casto made his season debut and began with a 10-2 major decision over Duke's Marvin Pineda-Iobo.
• Casto followed it up with a hard-fought 6-5 decision over Trey Brisker of Air Force.
• Porter fell to AJ Kovacs of NC State in the semifinals.
• Ben Stemmet picked up a 6-1 victory in the opening round before falling in sudden victory in the quarterfinals.
