MACON, Ga. – The Citadel volleyball team got double-doubles from
Amie Greene,
Mellanie King and
Sharlissa de Jesus in a 3-1 (25-20, 13-25, 17-25, 25-27) loss at Mercer Monday evening.

How it Happened
- Mercer jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead in the opening set before Sharlissa de Jesus unleashed her first service ace of the match.
- The Bulldogs would be trailing 11-9 before de Jesus returned to the service line and hammered three aces as part of a 6-0 Bulldog run.
- Mercer pulled within two points later in the set, but back-to-back kills from de Jesus and Alicia Roberts pushed the advantage back to four.
- The Bulldogs ended the first set on a 3-0 run, highlighted by Mellanie King's set-ending kill.
- The Citadel jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second set before Mercer went on a 15-5 run to take a commanding lead in the set. The Bears would maintain a double digit lead throughout the set.
- The third set saw the Bulldogs score the first four points before the Bears rattled off eight-straight points for an 8-4 advantage.
- The Citadel would trail by as many as 11 points in the set before a pair of kills from King highlighted a 5-0 run to pull within five.
- Mercer did not allow the Bulldogs to get any closer in taking the set.
- The fourth set went back-and-forth for the majority of the set until the Bulldogs got two kills from King, and another from de Jesus and Kenzie Kellerman to take a 21-18 lead.
- Kills from King and Maya Elassal pushed the advantage to 23-19, but the Bears responded with five-straight points to set up match point.
- A kill from de Jesus saved the first match point and an error by the Bears fended off the second.
- The Bulldogs were not able to fend off the third match point in falling 27-25.

- Amie Greene recorded her first career double-double with 32 assists and 19 digs.
- The 19 digs are the most by a setter since Megan Fuhr had 21 digs against UNCG on Nov. 11, 2017.
- Greene added two service aces and a block.
- Sharlissa de Jesus registered her fourth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs.
- She also added five service aces for the second time in the last three matches.
- Mellanie King recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 digs.
- Kenzie Kellerman was the fourth Bulldog in double digits in digs with 15.
- She was also credited with the first kill of her career in the fourth set.
