SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball dropped a 3-0 (22-25, 12-25, 23-25) decision to Wofford Sunday afternoon in Southern Conference volleyball action.

How It Happened
  • The teams exchanged points early before Sharlissa de Jesus recorded a kill and an attack error from the Terriers gave the Bulldogs the 4-3 lead.
  • Wofford responded with a7-3 run to take a three-point advantage.
  • Three-straight points, including kills from de Jesus and Alicia Roberts helped to tie the set, 11-11.
  • The Terriers would use an 8-1 run to open a seven-point lead late in the set.
  • The Bulldogs answered the run with a 6-0 spurt of their own to pull within one point. Kathleen Bula recording two kills during the run.
  • The Citadel fell behind by three points before getting kills from Amie Greene and de Jesus to tie the set 22-22.
  • Wofford would score the next three points to take the set.
  • The second set was back-and-forth through the early part of the set as the Terriers held a 9-7 lead.
  • Wofford would seize control from that point and take the set.
  • The Terriers looked like they were going to continue the momentum through the third set as they raced out to a 6-0 advantage.
  • The Bulldogs stormed back and used a 6-0 run of their own to tie the set, 8-8. de Jesus led the charge with a pair of kills, and Greene and Gina Delancey combined on a block during the run.
  • The teams would exchange points until Wofford used a 6-0 run to take a 21-17 advantage.
  • Back-to-back kills from Delancey late kept pulling the 'Dogs within a point, but the Terriers were able to hold off any further threat to take the match.
