Rifle Shoots Way to Victory Over Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel mixed team defeated Wofford, 4,571-4,321, on Saturday in Spartanburg. The Bulldog women's team placed third with an aggregate total of 4,222.

The Bulldogs took the top three individual spots with Charlotte Welsh shooting a 1,151 to win the event. Cameron Bates finished second with a total of 1,145, and Max Brabston was third with an aggregate score of 1,143.

Demi Perez was the top finisher on the women's team, placing sixth with an aggregate total of 1,068.

Three-Position Smallbore

Charlotte Welsh took home the top spot in smallbore with a total of 568.
She narrowly beat out teammate, Cameron Bates, who shot a 566.
Max Brabston placed third with a score of 558, while Jack Wittman equaled the mark of Brabston at 558.
Riley Neiders shot a 528 to lead the women's team and place sixth overall.

Air Rifle

The Bulldogs took home the top five spots in air rifle.
Brabston led the way in air rifle with a season-best score of 585. The mark is the seventh best score by the Bulldogs this season.
Welsh, who owns the top six scores on the season, placed second with a score of 583.
Bates was third with a 579, followed by Emily Perkins at 574 and Brandon Oerman at 564.
Demi Perez was the top shooter on the women's team with a 561 to finish seventh.
