HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team shot an opening-round 321 to sit in 13^th place after the first round of the Lowcountry Intercollegiate at the Bear Creek Golf Club.

How It Happened

The Bulldogs opened the day on the back 9.
Mackenzie Battle started with a pair of pars before back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13. She birdied the par-3 12^th and par-5 13^th.
She would close out the back nine with five-straight pars to shoot a two-under par opening nine.
She ran into a little trouble on the front nine, but was able to par the par-5 7^th hole.
Megan Ikeda started her day with seven-straight pars. She would end up shooting an opening-nine two-over par.
Ikeda joined Battle with a birdie on the par-5 7^th.
Paige Gilstrap was consistent on the round as she followed up an opening-nine 41, with a 39 on the front nine. She was able to record a birdie on the par-5 4^th hole.
Nadia Sandler tied Gilstrap with the best score on the front nine at three-over par. Sandler recorded birdies at the par-3 2^nd and par-4 5^th. She also birdied par-5 18^th hole on the opening nine.
