CHARLESTON, S.C. – Sharlissa de Jesus continued her outstanding career as the outside hitter became the school's all-time leader in career kills in The Citadel's 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-18) victory over UNCG Monday inside McAlister Field House.
She finished with 17 kills and 13 digs for her 11
th double-double of the season. de Jesus now has 1,366 career kills, passing the old mark of 1,350 set by Rachel Sanders (2005-08).

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs continued the momentum over from Sunday night as they jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead in the opening set.
- Moments later Sharlissa de Jesus delivered her second kill of the match to make her the school's all-time leader in career kills.
- With the score tied 8-8, de Jesus rattled off back-to-back service aces as part of a 6-0 run.
- The Bulldogs would not let up the rest of the set and Mellanie King put away her second kill for the 25-18 win.
- The second set saw the Spartans scored three of the first four points before the Bulldogs evened the set, 10-10.
- The teams would exchange points before the Bulldogs went on a 4-0 run to open a 19-14 advantage.
- UNCG would get within three points, but a kill from King, service ace from Kenzie Kellerman and a kill from Maddy Cardenas ended the set.
- The third set was again tight at the start as the teams were tied 13-13. Kills from de Jesus and Gina Delancey helped spark a 5-0 run and a lead that would not be relinquished.
- The Bulldogs opened up their advantage late, and it fitting fashion, de Jesus delivered the final kill of the match.

- The victory improved the Bulldogs to 6-8 in Southern Conference action, adding another win to their already school-record wins in conference action.
- The win was also the seventh at home this season, establishing a new single-season mark.
- de Jesus took center stage early as she quickly set the record with her second kill of the match. She finished the match by hitting .500 (17-0-34).
- de Jesus has now reached double figures in kills in 13 of the 15 matches played this spring.
- She added two service aces to raise her season total to 31.
- Amie Greene added a career-high six kills to go along with her 30 assists.
