CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team completed the series sweep of Chattanooga with the second-straight 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) victory over the Mocs Monday afternoon inside McAlister Field House.

How it Happened
- The Mocs scored the first two points of the match and held the lead towards the middle of the set at 11-10
- The Bulldogs got three kills from Makaya Middleton as part of a 10-2 run that saw The Citadel take a 20-13 lead.
- Sharlissa de Jesus would set up set point with her fifth kill of the set, but UTC went on a 5-0 run to pull within 24-23.
- After a Bulldog timeout, the set came to a close with a service error from the Mocs.
- The Bulldogs took advantage of three-straight errors to start the second set and quickly opened a 7-2 advantage.
- UTC would go on a mini run to pull within one, but the Bulldogs would counter with 9-4 spurt to open a 17-11 advantage.
- The Bulldogs got kills from four different players during the run and were aided by five attack errors.
- The Citadel continued to be helped by mistakes from the Mocs as they finished with eight attack errors in the second set.
- For the second-straight set, the Bulldogs found themselves sitting at set point at 24-18. This time, The Citadel only allowed the Mocs to pull within three before Mellanie King emphatically put the set away with her sixth kill of the match.
- The third set started with the Bulldogs rattling off the first six points of the set. A kill from King made it a 10-2 run.
- UTC pulled within five points before the Bulldogs got back-to-back kills from King to extend the advantage to 18-11.
- Just like the previous two sets, the Bulldogs neared set point before the Mocs made a late run. This time the run was 4-0 to pull within one point before another attack error from the Mocs ended the match.
Inside the Box Score
- The victory improved the Bulldogs to 5-29 all-time against the Mocs. All five victories have come since 2018 and The Citadel has won each of the last three contests.
- It is also the third-straight match the Bulldogs have defeated the Mocs 3-0.
- Monday's win marked the first time the Bulldogs won 3-0 in back-to-back matches since defeating Savannah State and Samford during the 2017 season.
- For the second-straight match, the Bulldogs got double-doubles from both of their outside hitters.
- Sharlissa de Jesus led the way with 13 kills and 14 digs.
- Mellanie King added 12 kills and 14 digs.
- Makaya Middleton was the third Bulldog in double figures in kills with 11.
- Kenzie Kellerman finished with 12 digs. She also added a kill for the second-straight match.
- Amie Greene handed out 35 assists while adding eight digs.
