CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team dropped a tough 3-1 (25-20, 25-17, 14-25, 25-21) decision to Presbyterian in the final match of The Citadel Tournament Friday night inside McAlister Field House.

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs jumped out quickly as Sharlissa de Jesus served three-straight aces to open a 6-3 advantage.
- After the set was tied 12-12, PC used a 7-3 run to take 19-15 lead.
- The Citadel was able to pull within two on a kill from de Jesus, but the Blue Hose got a kill and a service ace to take the set.
- PC scored the first four points on the second set and led throughout. The Bulldogs were able to pull within one on a kill from Ali Ruffin, but never able to get any closer.
- The third set was a different story as the Bulldogs came out of the break and turned a close set into an 11-point set victory.
- With the Bulldogs ahead 11-9, Belle Hogan served eight-straight points to put The Citadel comfortably ahead.
- The Bulldogs would use a 5-0 run to close out the set, highlighted by a Faith Justice ace.
- The fourth set was tight early before a 5-1 run from PC opened a 10-5 advantage.
- The Citadel would fall behind by six points late before Ali Ruffin served four-straight points to pull the Bulldogs within 23-21.
- That would be as close as it would get as a pair of kills ended the match.
Inside the Box Score
- Sharlissa de Jesus led the Bulldog attack with 18 kills and 18 digs. She also added three service aces.
- Ali Ruffin also recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs.
- Fellow freshman Belle Hogan finished with 40 assists, 14 digs, two kills and one service ace.
- Kenzie Kellerman had a match-high 26 digs.
- Sadie Gomez came off the bench to add a career-high five kills and two block assists.
