CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball picked up its first Southern Conference victory of the season with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21) victory over Wofford Wednesday night inside McAlister Field House.

How it Happened
- The opening set was a back-and-forth affair that featured 12 ties and five lead changes.
- The Bulldogs managed to open a three-point advantage, only to see Wofford come back to tie the set.
- A kill from Makaya Middleton gave the Bulldogs their biggest advantage of the set at 19-15. Wofford once again came back and took a 23-22 advantage.
- A service error tied the set, before Ali Ruffin set up set point with a kill.
- Sharlissa de Jesus made sure the set ended with an ace into the back left corner.
- The second set saw The Citadel jump out to a quick 4-1 advantage behind a kill from Maddy Cardenas.
- Wofford would briefly tie the set, but the Bulldogs answered that run with 12-6 run to take a commanding lead.
- The Citadel maintained its advantage and put the set away after back-to-back errors from the Terriers.
- The third set was very similar to the second, with the only difference being Wofford jumping out to the early. The Citadel managed to tie the set, but Wofford took back the lead and used the momentum to take the set.
- The fourth set was tight through the early stages as the team's exchanged the first 18 points.
- Three-straight kills (de Jesus, Belle Hogan, Gina Delancey) gave the Bulldogs a lead they would not relinquish.
- The lead would grow to six points after a block from Delancey and Hogan.
- Ruffin delivered a kill to set up match point, but Wofford responded with three-straight points.
- The Terriers would get no closer as a service ace gave the match to the Bulldogs.

- The victory was the second-straight over the Terriers inside McAlister Field House. Four of the seven victories in the series have come in Charleston.
- Sharlissa de Jesus led the attack with 16 kills and 11 digs.
- Makaya Middleton hit .409, with 11 kills on 22 swings. She added five digs and a pair of block assists.
- Ali Ruffin added eight kills and 13 digs.
- Gina Delancey finished with eight kills to go along with her four block assists.
- Belle Hogan handed out 41 assists, and added nine digs, two kills and one block assist.
- Maddy Cardenas contributed six kills and a pair of blocks.
- Kenzie Kellerman had a game-high 18 digs.
