CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team had four players in double figures in a 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 34-32, 25-23) setback at Chattanooga Friday evening.

How it Happened
- The opening set was back-and-forth before the Mocs went on a 7-2 run to open a 16-9 advantage.
- The Bulldogs could not overcome the deficit in dropping the first set.
- The Citadel bounced back on the second set and got kills from Maddy Cardenas and Makaya Middleton, followed by a Chattanooga error, to open a 10-7 advantage.
- The lead would grow to five points late on a kill from Middleton.
- The Mocs would pull within one late, but a kill from Belle Hogan and a service ace from Ali Ruffin evened the match at a set apiece.
- The Bulldogs jumped to a 4-0 lead in the third set off three kills.
- The Mocs battled back to even the match-up.
- Kills from Ruffin and Delancey gave the Bulldogs a 14-13 lead.
- The Citadel had a chance to close out the set, but the Mocs had a service ace and kill and took advantage of an attack error to tie the set at 24.
- Two late kills from Ruffin were not enough as the Mocs took the set, 34-32.
- The fourth set was even until the Mocs jumped to a 13-8 lead.
- The Bulldogs scored four points in a row off kills to narrow the lead to 13-12.
- The Mocs jumped to a 23-16 lead, but the Bulldogs scored five points in a row to make it 23-21.
- Late kills from Kathleen Bula and Middleton were not enough, as the Mocs ended the set and the match on a kill.

- Ali Ruffin led four players in double figures in kills with a match-high 22 kills. She added 14 digs to complete her double-double.
- Makaya Middleton added a season-best 17 kills.

- The fourth set saw the Bulldogs register 27 kills.
