Bula, Ruffin Lead Bulldogs Against Furman

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Bulldogs will sweep Furman 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-15) for the second time on the season on Wednesday night at McAlister Field House.

  • The Citadel jumped to a 5-1 lead to start the first set with two kills from Maddy Cardenas.
  • A kill from Kathleen Bula would allow the Bulldogs to jump to a 6-point in the first set.
  • Furman took advantage of three attack errors committed by the Bulldogs to narrow the lead to 13-11.
  • Two timeouts from Furman would not be enough to slow down the Bulldogs, as The Citadel would end the first set on a nine-point scoring run.
  • The Bulldogs would start the second set 3-0 with kills from Cardenas and Bula.
  • Both teams would go back-in-forth until kills from Gina Delancey and Kathleen Bula gave the Bulldogs a three-point advantage.
  • Furman would capitalize off two Bulldog attack errors to even up the game at 13.
