How it Happened
- The Bulldogs opened up the match with the first two points scored.
- Ali Ruffin registered two kills back-to-back to start a 5-1 scoring run to make it 12-10.
- The Spartans answered back with four consecutive kills to make the score 16-14.
- Maddy Cardenas had a kill to halt a scoring running by the Spartans, and Amie Greene had a service ace to tie the game at 18.
- The Spartans managed to fight their way to taking the first set.
- The Citadel started the second set with three-straight attack errors by UNCG.
- The Spartans had a 13-3 run in the middle of the second set to make it 18-9.
- Freshman Sam Barnes was set up by a fellow freshman Lydia Larson with a kill to make it 20-12.
- The Spartans ended the second set on a five-point scoring run.
- The Bulldogs sparked a 10-2 run in the third set with kills by Belle Hogan, Cardenas and Ruffin.
- Kathleen Bula ended the third set with a kill to make the match 2-1
- The Bulldogs fought back in the fourth set from a 6-4 deficit to fire off four consecutive points to take an 8-6 lead.
- Bula had a kill to make it 21-20, but UNCG pulled out the match with two kills and two attack errors committed by The Citadel to win 25-20.
