CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team fell in a four-set match against the Samford Bulldogs (25-16, 14-25, 25-19, 25-18) on Sunday afternoon at McAlister Field House.

How it Happened
· Samford jumped to an early 8-0 led in the first set.

Makaya Middleton interrupted Samford's run with kills making it 9-5.
· Samford capitalized off four attack errors committed by The Citadel to extend lead to seven
· A late kill from
Sadie Gomez was not enough, as Samford had three kills to end the set.
· The Bulldogs benefited from two attack errors and one ball-handling error to spark a 5-0 run.
· A kill from
Ali Ruffin sparked a 6-0 run and gave The Citadel a 21-9 lead.

Belle Hogan to Cardenas allowed the Bulldogs to take set two, 25-14.
· Both teams exchanged points early in the third set; a Samford kill sparked a 4-0 run.
