How it Happened
  • Ben Haubert got the match going with a second-period fall. He secured a takedown in the opening period, then used a second-period takedown to use that for the fall.
  • Micah DiCarlo followed with a takedown and near fall in the opening period, before securing six near-fall points in the second period on his way to the tech fall victory.
  • Mark Chaid followed much of the same script as DiCarlo as he made quick work of his opponent, taking the match, 18-0, in 4:35.
  • In an exciting match at 285, John Chesser fell behind early before coming back strong in the second period. He wore down his much bigger opponent and was eventually able to get the turn for the fall.
  • Blair Orr wasted little time in getting on the board in his debut. He registered a takedown in the first 10 seconds of the match and ride out the remainder of the period. He got a quick reversal in the second period and secured the fall at 4:32.
  • George Rosas was very active in his match at 133 pounds, getting a takendown and four near-fall points in the first period.
  • Jason Garay secured three takedowns in the opening period, including the final one right before the buzzer. He rode out the second period on top and then added a pair of takedowns in the third period for the major decision victory.
  • Ethan Willis controlled his match from the start in a 5-0 victory. He got an early takedown, then rode out the rest of the first period and the entire second period. He would add a reversal in the third period and secure riding time.
  • Selwyn Porter scored six points in the first period and eased his way to an 11-5 victory at 157 pounds.
  • Brodie Porter was taken down early in the match, but was able to come back with a second-period takedown for a one-point advantage. He followed it up with strong third period for the 9-2 victory.
