Bulldogs Set to Open 2022-23 Season Monday Night

GAME NOTES

THE OPENING WEEK AHEAD
NCAA Division I hoops tips off this week as The Citadel plays at Clemson Monday at 7 P.M. for their first matchup since 2018. On Thursday the Bulldogs open their home season against Presbyterian at 7 P.M. from McAlister Field House.

ED CONROY ERA REBORN!
Tonight's season opener marks the official beginning of Ed Conroy's second tour as head coach of the Bulldogs. The 1989 alumnus previously served as The Citadel's sideline commander from 2006-10, posting a 20-win season in 2008-09.

HISTORY WITH CLEMSON
The Citadel and Clemson have had many matchups over the years as Monday marks the 83rd matchup. The Tigers have won the last 16 meetings dating back to 1981, while the Bulldogs' last victory over Clemson was in 1979 during their first 20-win season. This will be Ed Conroy's first crack at Clemson as a head coach.

THE TEAM
The Bulldogs return six players and have brought in 12 newcomers: seven freshmen and five transfers. Back for the Bulldogs are Stephen Clark, David Maynard, Rudy Fitzgibbons III, Jackson Price, Brady Spence, and Dylan Engler.

STEPHEN CLARK'S BLOCK PARTY
Stephen Clark had a career-high 75 blocks last season for second all-time, giving him 137 for his career for fourth all-time. That puts him 78 away from catching career blocks leader Kirill Misyuchenko.
