Bulldogs Welcome Presbyterian for Home Opener

GAME NOTES

THE GAME
The Citadel opens its 2022-23 home schedule on Nov. 10 as the Bulldogs welcome Presbyterian to McAlister Field House. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.


ON THE RADIO
All games this season can be heard live on 102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston area. The voice of the Bulldogs, Luke Mauro, will be on the call.


HISTORY WITH PRESBYTERIAN
The Citadel and Presbyterian are meeting for the 75th time on the hardwood with the Bulldogs hodling a 49-25 advantage in the all-time series. The contest is the 41st to be played in Charleston, with the Bulldogs holding a 31-9 advantage.


LAST SEASON VS. PRESBYTERIAN
The two teams played a double-overtime classic that saw the Blue Hose prevail with a 74-70 victory. Hayden Brown led the Bulldogs with 26 points and 17 rebounds, while Rayshon Harrison had 21 points for PC. The Citadel forced a second overtime as Jason Roche hit a three-pointer with 29 seconds remaining.


SIMILAR OPPONENTS TO START SEASON
The 2022-23 season has a familiar look. Just like last year, the Bulldogs opened the year agianst a team from the ACC. Last season, the opener was followed with games against Morris College and Presbyterian. The same two teams are the next opponents on the Bulldogs' schedule, just in reverse order.


ASH FROM DEEP
Graduate transfer Austin Ash was hitting from all over the court as Clemson as he knocked down five three-pointers. This performance came on the heels of knocking down seven three-pointers in the exhibition game against Mars Hill.


McALLISTER STARTS HOT
Freshman Colby McAllister came out hot in the second half against Clemson as he scored all 13 of his points after halftime. He got things going with a four-point play, then followed it up with two more three-pointers over a couple minute span.


PAIR OF KNOBS IN STARTING LINEUP
The Bulldogs opened the season with a pair of freshman in the starting lineup. Madison Durr and Colby McAllister took the court for the start of the season.


KNOCKING DOWN THE THREE BALL
The Citadel opened the season by connecting on 11 three-pointers against Clemson. Three different players knocked down multiple three-pointers, led by Austin Ash with five. Colby McAllister added three, and Stephen Clark two.


UP NEXT
The Bulldogs play their second-straight home game as they welcome Morris College to McAlister Field House on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
