THE GAME
The Citadel closes out the calendar year with a New Year's Eve contest against Samford. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. from McAlister Field House.

All games this season can be heard live on 102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston area. The voice of the Bulldogs, Luke Mauro, will be on the call.
SCOUTING SAMFORD
Samford enters the game with a record of 7-7, and a 1-0 mark in conference play. The Bulldogs put an end to a seven-game losing streak with a 78-69 victory over Mercer on Wednesday. Ques Glover is averaging a team-best 13.8 points per game, but has missed the past six games. Logan Dye (11.7), Jermaine Marshall (11.2) and Jaden Campbell (10.2) are also averaging double figures.
HISTORY WITH SAMFORD
Saturday's game marks the 28th all-time meeting with Samford holding a 14-13 advantage in the series. The teams split the two games last season after not playing the previous year due to COVID issues.
LAST MEETING WITH SAMFORD
The teams played a classic matchup that came down to the final seconds in a 76-74 Samford victory. The Citadel had a three-pointer rim out at the buzzer.
Stephen Clark finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
David Maynard added 12 points.
SOCON OPENING WIN
For the second time in the last three seasons, The Citadel opened Southern Conference action with a home victory over Chattanooga. The Bulldogs opened the 2020-21 conference season with a 92-87 win over the Mocs.
SMITH PERFECT OFF THE BENCH
Freshman
AJ Smith was perfect off the bench as the guard went 6-for-6 from the floor, finishing with a career-high 13 points. The performance came on the heels of a 12-point performance against NC Central.
SECOND HALF SHOOTING
The Bullogs secured the victory over Chattanooga by shooting 15-of-24 from the field in the second half. They also shot an astounding 7-of-10 from beyond the arc in the game's final 20 minutes. On the flip side, The Citadel held the Mocs to just 13-of-33 shooting.

The Bulldogs hit the road for the first time in conference play as they travel to take on Furman on Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
