CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel head baseball coach
Tony Skole announced the addition of eight future Bulldogs during the NCAA early signing period. The group includes six freshman and a pair of transfers.
"We are excited to announce our early signing class which will be joining The Citadel family in the fall of 2023," said Skole. "First, I want to congratulate each of these young men and thank them for choosing our baseball and The Citadel as the place where they want to continue their education. I believe Bulldog fans are going to truly enjoy watching these guys play over the next several years. We can't wait to see them all here in Citadel Blue.

John Wimmer, INF, 6-0, 175, Rock Hill, South Carolina (Rock Hill)
Plays for head coach Dell Corley at Rock Hill High School…earned offensive player of the year honors after hitting .400 with 24 RBIs and 25 runs scored as a junior…named to all-conference and DP All-Star teams…ranked as the No. 1 shortstop in the state of South Carolina, and No. 4 player overall, by Perfect Game...selected the fourth-best hitter at the Perfect Game WWBA World Championships in October…plays for Upstate Mavericks travel organization.

Garrett Fulmer, C, 6-0, 205, Spartanburg, South Carolina (Spartanburg)
Will play senior season for Jesse Dyar after playing previously for Wes Brown at Spartanburg High School…ranked as the No. 2 catcher in the state of South Carolina by Prep Baseball Report and Diamond Prospects…also rated as No. 7 player in the state by Prep Baseball Report…earned all-state and all-region honors after leading the state in hitting with a .540 average as a junior…hit .487 as a sophomore…ranked as the No. 9 quarterback in the state as a junior by MaxPreps…plays for the South Charlotte Panthers travel organization.

Anthony Hausner, RHP/1B, 6-3, 235, Apex, North Carolina (Guliford Tech CC)
Plays for head coach John Barrow at Guliford Technical Community College…hit .356 with five doubles, nine home runs and 33 RBIs as a freshman…also walked 23 times and scored 27 runs…also struck out 11 over 14.2 innings…was homeschooled in high school.

"Our fans are going to love watching Anthony play. He is a physical player who can impact a game in many different ways, and we plan to use his two-way abilities to their fullest extent. Anthony is already one of the top hitters and power threats in the state of North Carolina. On the mound, he is also coming into his own. This fall, Anthony commanded the strike zone with multiple pitches, while sitting 92-94mph with his fastball."

Plays for head coach Casey Waites at Dutch Fork High School…named to the South Carolina Diamond Invitational All-Tournament Team as a junior…ranked as the No.1 first baseman in the state of South Carolina by Prep Baseball Report, and the No. 3 first baseman by Perfect Game…member of the National Honor Society and All A Honor Roll…uncle, Steven, played soccer at South Carolina…plays for Upstate Mavericks travel organization.

Javier Crespo, INF, 6'0" 190, San Juan Puerto Rico (Florence Darlington Technical College)
Plays for head coach Preston McDonald at Florence-Darlington Technical College…helped the Stingers to a 48-13 record and a trip to the NJCAA Eastern District finals…hit .281 with two doubles, one triple, one home run and 15 RBIs…added seven stolen bases and scored 19 runs…ranked as the No. 74 middle infielder in the state of Florida coming out of high school.

Maddox Webb, UTIL, 6-2, 185, Summerville, South Carolina (Summerville)
Plays for head coach Bo Charpia and Phil Tobin ('91) at Summerville High School…ranked as the No. 8 right-handed pitcher in the state of South Carolina by Diamond Prospects…also rated as No. 5 shortstop by Prep Baseball Report…earned all-region honors as a sophomore after hitting .348 with four doubles, two triples and 20 RBIs…helped the Green Wave to a lower-state championship as a sophomore…starter at shortstop as an eighth grader…dad, Colt, played football and competed in track and field at Indiana State…plays for Canes Baseball travel organization.
