Richie Parra and The Citadel rifle team add two weapons to their artillery for the 2022-23 season in recruits
Carson Wood and
Aiden Malcolm.
Parra and the Bulldogs have risen through the ranks considerably over the last few seasons, finishing third at the 2021-22 SoCon Championships and possessing four of the SoCon's last five Rookies of the Year. The most recent of which,
James Hart, also won the SoCon air rifle competition. The program returns
Charlotte Welsh, the SoCon's 2020-21 choice for Rookie of the Year who took home Smallbore First Team and Air Rifle Second Team in the 2021-22 league competition, reaching the finals in both events.
Carson Wood (Winter Springs, Fla. / Ovieto High School)
HIGH SCHOOL: Went to Ovieto High School… Smallbore and Air Rifle Florida State Champion as a junior and senior… Qualified for Junior US Army Rifle national championships as a senior and Junior Olympics as a sophomore, junior, and senior… NJROTC Top Shooter as a freshman.
Aiden Malcolm (Kaiserslautern, Germany / Kaiserslautern High School)
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Kaiserslautern High School in Germany… Was team's top shooter junior and senior seasons… Member of the European Finals championship team as a senior that finished third, placed eighth individually… Member of AFJROTC championship team as a sophomore and junior, place third individually as a junior.
