CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel football team announced its captains for the 2022 season.
Chris Beverly,
Logan Billings,
Andy Davis,
Tereis Drayton and
Brian Horn have been selected to lead the Bulldogs this season.
Beverly is a graduate student who received his bachelor's degree from The Citadel in the spring. He is a four-year starter at safety, totaling 192 tackles, including 11.0 tackles-for-loss, three interceptions and 10 pass break-ups.
Billings, a member of Foxtrot Company, is a senior in the corps. He is majoring in mechanical engineering. Billings is the top returning rusher from a season ago, finishing with 511 yards and six touchdowns.
Davis, a member of Mike Company, is the team's Military Captain for the 2022 season. A senior in the corps, Davis is majoring in exercise science. He has totaled 102 career tackles, three interceptions and four pass break-ups.
Drayton, a member of Victor Company, is a senior member of the corps. He is a four-year starter along the offensive line, helping the Bulldogs rank in the Top 10 in the FCS in rushing and time of possession each of the last three seasons.
Horn is a graduate student who received his degree from The Citadel in the spring, He served as the team's Military Captain last season. He has totaled 92 career tackles, including 9.5 tackles-for-loss and four pass break-ups.
The Bulldogs open the 2022 season on Sept. 1 at Campbell. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
