BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Citadel volleyball team performs an impressive sweep of North Carolina Central (25-11, 25-23, 25-6) Friday afternoon in Campbell's Gore Arena.

How it Happened
- North Carolina Central opened the first set with a service ace, but it was quickly returned with an eight-point run from the Bulldogs that consisted of three kills from Ali Ruffin and two from Makaya Middleton.
- The Eagles were able to put away a few points, but the Bulldogs kept the momentum going and went on another 7-1 run to extend their lead with kills from Maddy Cardenas and a service ace from Belle Hogan.
- A service ace from Kenzie Kellerman and kills from Ruffin and Gina Delancey ended the set at 25-11.
- Cardenas and Middleton recorded the first kills of the second set, but N.C. Central service aces tied the set 5-5.
- A few points were exchanged, but The Citadel used kills and a solo-block from Ruffin to pull ahead and force a Eagles' timeout.
- N.C. Central fought back and tied the set again at 12-12.
- The teams were still evenly matched at 21 but two kills from Cardenas and a service ace from Amie Greene ended the set 25-23.
- The Bulldogs started the third set with kills across the board from Cardenas, Middleton, Gomez and Ruffin (8-1).
- The Eagles were able to return three points, but a kill from Belle Hogan ignited an 11-point Bulldog run.
- The set ended 25-6 with final kills from Cardenas and Gomez, completing the sweep.

- Ali Ruffin led the Citadel with 17 kills and Maddy Cardenas followed with 10.
