CHARLESTON, S.C. – Five home events, including The Citadel Open highlight the 2022-23 wrestling schedule that was released Monday.
Fans will have their first opportunity to see the Bulldogs in action at the Intrasquad scrimmage on Oct. 22. The event is set to get underway at 3 p.m.
The Citadel opens the regular season on Nov. 1 as it welcomes Queens University to McAlister Field House.
After a trip to Blacksburg, Virginia for the Hokie Open on Nov. 5, the Bulldogs will host The Citadel Open on Nov. 13.
The Bulldogs will spend the month of December on the road as they participate in a pair of tournaments and a dual match. The Citadel opens the month at the Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 2-3), before heading to New York to take on Long Island on Dec. 19. The month ends with the Soldier Salute Tournament in Coralville, Iowa on Dec. 29-30.
The Citadel rings in 2023 with a pair of home matches, first taking on Truett McConnell on Jan. 6, before opening Southern Conference action against App State on Jan. 15.
The remainder of the Bulldogs home conference matches include Chattanooga (Jan. 29) and Campbell (Feb. 5).
The Bulldogs will have five conference matches on the road, beginning with Gardner-Webb (Jan. 20) and Presbyterian (Jan. 22). The Citadel will also travel to Davidson (Feb. 3), Bellarmine (Feb. 11) and VMI (Feb. 18).
The Southern Conference Championships will be held I Boone, North Carolina on March 4.
