John Chesser secured a fall at 285 pounds in the Bulldogs 34-6 setback to No. 22 App State in the Southern Conference opener Sunday afternoon inside McAlister Field House.

How it Happened
- The match got exciting in the third period at 197 pounds as Mark Chaid and Carson Floyd were locked in a tight battle. Floyd had the advantage going into the third period, but Chaid was able to secure a pair of takedowns to tie the match.
- Floyd was able to escape to take the lead, then fight off a last second attempt at a takedown. He added the bonus point for riding time for the 11-9 decision.
- Things got even more exciting at 285 pounds as John Chesser held a 4-2 advantage heading to the third period.
- Chesser started the period on top and was able to work his opponent onto his back and secure the fall at 6:13.
- Blair Orr battled No. 21 Caleb Smith for the full seven minutes before falling, 6-3. Orr got off to the early lead with a first period takedown, before heading to the third period traling 4-2.
- Orr got the escape from the bottom and nearly had the takedown to take the lead. Smith was able to fight it off and secure the takedown of his own in the final seconds.
- George Rosas got a reversal in the second period of his match against Ethan Oakley to take a one-point lead. Oakley got an escape in the third period, then added the bonus for point for a 4-3 decision.
