How it Happened
- Ben Haubert got the Bulldogs off to the early advantage as he used a pair of takedowns in the first two periods to take a 5-2 advantage into the final two minutes.
- After a takedown from his opponent, The Citadel tossed the challenge brick and Haubert was awarded a point after stall point was awarded.
- Haubert survived a late takedown to take the match with the riding time bonus point.
- John Chesser was locked in a tight battle at 285 that saw both competitors nearly secure takedowns.
- In the end, it was Chesser's escape at the start of the second period that was the difference in the 1-0 victory.
- In one of the most exciting matches of the evening, Ethan Willis and Corbin Dion put on a show in the final minute.
- Corbin got a takedown to tie the match, but Willis quickly got the reversal and held on for the 5-4 victory.
- Thomas Snipes was impressive in his bout at 157 pounds. With the match tied heading into the third period, Snipes quickly got the escape and transitioned it into a takedown.
- He was not done yet as he secured another takedown in the final 30 seconds, added the bonus point for riding time, and walked off with an 8-4 victory.
