11/12/2023 12:00:00 PM

GAME NOTES

THE GAME
  • The Citadel heads across the state to Presbyterian College for a Monday night matchup.
  • It will be the 76th all-time meeting between the in-state foes with the Bulldogs holding a 50-25 series lead, being winners of 11 of the last 14 meetings.
ON THE RADIO
  • Every game can be heard live on 102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston area. The voice of the Bulldogs, Brian Giffin, will be on the call.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Morgan's third triple of the contest gave CIT its largest lead of the game, 46-39, 2:33 into the second half versus Boston College
  • The Eagles tied the game at 58-58 with a three of their own at the 9:16 mark but a Bulldogs turnover on the ensuing possession led to a BC breakaway dunk as CIT had to talk things over.
  • BC stretched the differential back to six, 69-63, with 4:38 remaining before a Christian Moore make from long range made it a one-possession game.
  • Madison Durr's layup cut it to one, but BC took advantage of a CIT turnover and missed three ball with a pair of layups to go up 73-68 with 0:43 seconds left.
  • Morgan came up with his fourth and final three-pointer of the night as 25 ticks remained on the clock, but BC made both free throws to hold on for a 75-71 road win.
PRESBYTERIAN'S PERFECT START
  • The Blue Hose are 2-0 after a 68-62 road win at Vanderbilt on Tuesday before besting Columbia International in their home opener on Thursday night 100-68.
FOUR-BY-FOUR
  • Freshman Keynan Davis hit four first-half three-pointers versus Boston College on Friday night as The Citadel held a 38-35 lead at the break.
  • Grad student Elijah Morgan hit four triples of his own as he led the Bulldogs with 17 points after being held scoreless at NC State last Monday.
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
  • With a win, the Bulldogs earn their first win of the season and in doing so, defeat the Blue Hoes for the 12th time in the last 15 meetings.
  • With a loss, The Citadel would fall to 0-3 to begin a season for the first time since the 2019-2020 campaign.
FRESHMEN FRENZY
  • Four freshmen have appeared in both games this season for The Citadel.
  • Two of them, Davis and Moore, are averaging 22 and 14 minutes a game, respectively.
  • In all, six freshmen have seen playing time for the Bulldogs so far this year.
BULLDOGS BACKGROUND...AGAIN
  • For the second straight game the opposing head coach will have Citadel ties as Presbyterian Head Coach Quinton Ferrell served as an assistant under Chuck Driesell during the 2012-13 season.
WELCOME BACK WINSTON
  • Graduate transfer Winston Hill returns to Clinton to play his old team after spending last season at Presbyterian, appearing in the first seven games before suffering a season-ending injury.
UP NEXT
  • The Citadel returns home on Thursday, November 16 for a 7 p.m. tip with North Greenville.
