CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel led by seven at the half before using some timely three-pointers in the second 20 minutes to pull away from North Greenville University and earn a 77-59 win on Thursday night.
Quentin Millora-Brown recorded a double-double for the Bulldogs with 10 points and 16 rebounds.
First Half:
- A Marcus Pigram layup gave CIT an early 9-8 edge.
- NGU hit a corner three to cut the deficit to two, 15-13, at the 7:56 mark.
- Madison Durr found Pigram for a make from beyond the arc as CIT retook the lead, 23-22.
- This time Pigram found Durr for a 3-pointer as the Bulldogs opened up some separation at 35-25 with 2:41 to go.
- AJ Smith capped off the first half scoring with a layup And-1 as CIT held a 35-28 advantage at the break.
Second Half:
- Winston Hill joined the 3-point barrage to extend the margin to 45-37 four minutes into the second stanza.
- A minute later, Millora-Brown's make from the wing stretched the lead to double digits, 50-39.
- Elijah Morgan's And-1 held the difference at 12 with 12:28 left to go before his triple gave CIT its largest lead of the game at 58-43.
- Keynan Davis' fastbreak reverse layup pushed the advantage to nearly 20, 65-46, with 7:27 remaining as the Bulldogs cruised down the stretch to a 77-59 home win.
