Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's basketball team shot 50% from both the floor and 3-point land as they opened up a 20-point lead in the second half on the way to an 81-52 win over Charleston Southern on Tuesday night.
Five Bulldogs were in double figures in a diverse attack that saw Hill and Millora-Brown both record double-doubles while a total of 11 players registered a point.
First Half:
- Elijah Morgan's 3-pointer gave the Bulldogs an early 12-4 advantage five minutes into the action.
- Levi Birkholz found Madison Durr for a deep triple as CIT held a 21-12 lead halfway through the first stanza.
- A pair of CSU free throws trimmed the margin to single digits before Colby McAllister answered on the ensuing position with a three-ball of his own, CIT 31-20.
- The Buccaneers answered with an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 31-28 with 3:30 until the break.
- CIT ended the half with a 9-0 spurt to hold a 40-28 lead at intermission.
Second Half:
- AJ Smith's coast-to-coast bucket and-1 extended the margin to 49-30 four minutes into the second half.
- Moments later, Quentin Millora-Brown's dunk off a Winston Hill dish made it a 21-point affair, 53-32.
- Morgan's second 3-pointer of the game got The Citadel to the 70-point mark and a 25-point lead, 70-45, with six minutes to go as the Bulldogs cruised to an 81-52 win.
