RALEIGH, N.C. – The Citadel trailed NC State by just six, 39-33, at the 15:48 mark of the second half before the Wolfpack used an 18-6 run to open up a double-digit lead as it handed the Bulldogs a 72-59 defeat on Monday night.
First Half:
15:43 - The Wolfpack used some second-chance opportunities in the first four minutes to take a 10-4 lead at the first media timeout.
8:05 –
AJ Smith's three-point play trimmed the deficit back to six, 17-11, but NCSU scored the next five to push the margin to double digits at 22-11.
3:57 –
Madison Durr's step back three cut the margin to seven, 28-21, before a pair of Smith free throws made it a five-point affair at 28-23.
1:02 – A Wolfpack transition three pushed the advantage back to double digits, 36-25.

Quentin Millora-Brown's bucket before the buzzer had the Bulldogs within striking distance at the break, 36-27.
Second Half:
15:48 – An
Elijah Morgan steal turned into a Bulldogs fast break three as he found QMB at the top of the key, keeping it a six-point contest at 39-33.
14:00 – NCSU responds with a make from beyond the arc before a hook shot capped off a mini 7-1 run to give the Wolfpack their largest lead of the game, 46-34.
12:02 – Back-to-back Wolfpack triples increased the margin to 15 at 53-38.

Marcus Pigram dished it to
Christian Moore for his first collegiate three, but NCSU still held a double-digit lead, 59-46.

Winston Hill slammed one down off a
Colby McAllister dish, but the Wolfpack maintained a 15-point differential at the last media timeout, 64-51.
