Bulldogs Hold Notre Dame to 16 Second-Half Points in 65-45 Road Win

SOUTH BEND, IN. – The Citadel basketball team held the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to just 16 second-half points and a 27% field goal percentage for the game as it led most of the way in a 65-45 road win.
In doing so the Bulldogs snapped an 0-5 streak against Power 5 foes, which includes the NC State and Boston College games from this season.
Elijah Morgan showed out in his return to Notre Dame, scoring a game-high 19 points (5-of-7 from three). Quentin Millora-Brown recorded his fifth consecutive double-double (15 pts., 11 rebs.) while Madison Durr and AJ Smith chipped in 15 and 13 respectively.
First Half:
The Citadel returns to the court at McAllister Field House on Saturday, December 30 for a 1 pm contest with Toccoa Falls College.
In doing so the Bulldogs snapped an 0-5 streak against Power 5 foes, which includes the NC State and Boston College games from this season.

First Half:
- QMB led the Bulldogs with six points as the Bulldogs held a 13-9 edge at the 11:48 mark with ND starting out just 3-for-11 (27%) from the field.
- ND responded with a 7-0 run to take a 16-13 lead, timeout CIT.
- Morgan's third triple of the half put CIT ahead 26-23 with five minutes until the intermission.
- ND again answered to retake the lead 27-26 but Durr responded with five straight points to put CIT up 31-27 with 1:51 left on its way to leading 32-29 at the break.
- ND raced out to a quick 6-0 start as they snatched back the lead, 35-32, as CIT needed to talk things over.
- This time The Citadel put together a run, 13-2, to open up their largest lead of the night at eight, 45-37, with 12:10 on the clock before Morgan hit his fourth three-ball of the game.
- The Fighting Irish endured a 5:36 scoreless stretch that allowed the Bulldogs to expand the margin to 16, 55-39, with 7:39 left to play.
- Notre Dame wouldn't get closer than 14 as Winston Hill's layup with 1:57 remaining capped off a 65-45 win.
