Basketball Goes for Third Straight Win on Tuesday Night

12/4/2023 5:00:00 PM

GAME NOTES

LAST TIME OUT
  • Smith fadeaway kept the Bulldogs within one, 24-23, at the under eight timeout.
  • CIT's first triple of the game, again from Smith, tied the game at 29-29 with six minutes to go until halftime.
  • An 11-3 run heading into the break had CIT up 40-36.
  • Back-to-back 3-pointers by Smith and Elijah Morgan gave the Bulldogs their biggest lead of the game at that point, 53-42.
  • Smith hit the 30-point mark with a free throw as CIT held a 68-51 advantage halfway through the second stanza.
  • A pair of Morgan triples extended the differential to 21, 80-59, with five minutes remaining as CIT secured an 85-68 road win.
HITTING THE GLASS
  • The Bulldogs have outrebounded their opponent in all nine contests this season.
  • QMB and Winston Hill both rank inside the Top 10 in The SoCon in rebounds at fourth and seventh respectively.
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
  • If the Bulldogs win, they would have six wins in their last seven games.
  • If the Bulldogs lose, it would be their first loss to a non-D1 opponent in a decade, as they fell to West Alabama 90-77 in November of 2013.
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP HERE
  • AJ Smith is the only player to register double-digit scoring efforts in all nine games this season and is coming off a career-high 34 points on 14-of-17 shooting from the floor, including five 3-pointers.
  • His 17.3 ppg are good for fourth in The SoCon.
BACK-TO-BACK
  • Hill and Quentin Millora-Brown each recorded double-doubles for the second straight game, marking the first time a Bulldogs player has had consecutive double-doubles since Hayden Brown in February of 2022.
SHOOTING THE LIGHTS OUT
  • The Bulldogs have shot over 50% from both the field and 3-point land in each of their last two games on their way to the first two 80+ point totals of the season.
UP NEXT

The Bulldogs enjoy a break for the rest of finals week before heading down the street next Thursday, December 14th to take on College of Charleston at 7 pm.
