CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel basketball team rushed out to a 39-11 lead and shot over 50% from the field for the third consecutive game on their way to an 88-60 win over Pfeiffer University on Tuesday night.
Quentin Millora-Brown registered a double-double for the third straight game with 17 points and 14 rebounds in just 27 minutes. Freshman
Keynan Davis chipped in 11 points, four boards, three assists and two steals while
Madison Durr added 10 points, four rebounds and two helpers.
First Half:
- AJ Smith's driving layup had CIT up 12-3 at the first media timeout.
- QMB's offensive board and dish set up Davis for a dunk, CIT 22-7 halfway through the first.
- A 17-4 Bulldogs run over a 6:04 stretch made it a 27-point affair, 39-11, with 3:36 left until the break.
- PFU responded with 10 points in the closing minutes as CIT led 43-21 at the half.
Second Half:
- The hoop and-1 by Smith made it 56-32 six minutes into the second stanza.
- Back-to-back 3-pointers from Davis nudged the advantage to 64-37 CIT at the 12:06 mark.
- A pair of Tony Carpio free throws extended the margin to 30, 71-41, with seven minutes to go as the Bulldogs won comfortably, 88-60.
