Knoxville, Tenn. – The Citadel tennis team was defeated by the University of Tennessee (1-6) on Friday afternoon at the Barksdale Stadium.
 
The second match between the Bulldogs and the Vols were canceled.

• Tennessee started off the match with a doubles win.
• Hayden Shoemake, in the No. 1 singles spot, went head-to-head against the No. 65 ranked Emile Hudd. Shoemake forced a three-set match against Hudd in set two by winning 6-4. The third set was decided in a tiebreaker, with Hudd winning 10-2.
• Lucas Robins picked up a singles win against Martim Prata due to set two being retired.
