Tennis Picks Up Conference Victory Over UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Citadel tennis team picked up a conference victory over UNCG (5-2) on Wednesday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts.

  • The Citadel tennis team picks up its first Southern Conference victory since 2017 after beating UNCG.
  • The doubles team of Andrew Darby and Lucas Robins secured the doubles point for the Bulldogs.
  • Hayden Shoemake continues to dominate after defeating David Flisberg in three sets. Shoemake took the first set with ease by winning 6-0. Flisberg forced a third set after taking set two; Shoemake battled and came out victorious against Flisberg.
  • Zvonko Bencedic picks up his third singles victory in a row after beating John Gabelic in the No. 2 singles spot. Bencedic and Gableic battled, with Bencedic coming out victorious in the end.
  • Sebastian Kamieniecki defeated Devon Moskowitz in two sets. The first set ended in a tie-breaker, with Kamieniecki winning 7-5. Kamieniecki would take a 6-2 victory in set two.
  • The No. 6 singles spot went to three sets, with Bradey Minnich taking the first set against Wyatt Cannon. Cannon forced set three by winning 6-1 in the second. Minnich secured the victory for the Bulldogs by winning set three.
