Volleyball Remains Undefeated

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – The Citadel volleyball remains undefeated after the Jacksonville Invitational with a straight-set sweep of Northern Arizona 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-18) on Saturday.

How it Happened
  • Angelina Sayles secured the first two points of set one for the Bulldogs with a kill and a service ace.
  • Northern Arizona took the lead at 7-5, but The Citadel had two kills from Belle Hogan and Gina Delancey to regain the lead at 8-7.
  • The Bulldogs jumped to an 18-12 lead from Mackenzie Martin and Hogan kills.
  • Northern Arizona narrowed the lead to 24-23, but a service error from NAU gave the Bulldogs set one.
  • The Citadel took control of the second set with a 5-0 run, fueled by kills from Ruffin and Cardenas.
  • NAU tied the set at 10-10, but the Bulldogs scored three straight points to make it 13-10.
  • Northern Arizona took the lead 14-13; however, The Citadel responded with three kills, a service ace, and an attack error by Northern Arizona, making it 18-14 Bulldogs.
