- The Bulldogs set the tone in the first set with a 6-0 scoring run sparked by an Ali Ruffin kill to lead 7-2.
- The Citadel's lead would grow to much as seven with an attack error committed by Chattanooga at 11-4.
- Chattanooga tied the set at 16-16 with an attack error committed by the Bulldogs.
- Three kills in a row late in the set took the chances away from The Citadel as Chattanooga took the first set 25-23.
- Both teams would go back and forth early in the second set, but the Bulldogs gained a three-point lead with a Maddy Cardenas kill at 9-6.
- Back-to-back points from a Gina Delancey kill and an Angelina Sayles service ace gave the Bulldogs the 16-13 advantage.
