Local Rivalry Continues on Wednesday Night

LAST TIME OUT vs NC A&T (11.17.24)
  • Sola Adebisi's three-point play cut the deficit to one, 13-12, and ignited a 12-2 Bulldogs run that put them ahead 21-15 halfway through the first half.
  • Christian Moore's 3-pointer with 5:22 remaining nudged the edge to five, 28-23.
  • A Keynan Davis dunk pushed the differential back to seven, 37-30, with 1:43 to go but the Aggies scored four points in the last 57 seconds to trail by just three at intermission.
  • After an NC A&T corner three tied the game at 41-41, Glover answered with one of his own to give The Citadel a 49-45 lead in the early going.
  • An Aggies 3-pointer at the 13:15 mark put them ahead, 57-54, but a bucket by Davis knotted the score at 64-64 halfway through the stanza.
  • NC A&T responded with a 9-0 run to open up some breathing room, 73-64, with 6:53 remaining.
  • The Citadel would get as close as four, 73-69, but NC A&T held off the Bulldogs down the stretch to prevail 82-73.
COACHES SHOW
  • The first men's basketball coaches show will take place on Monday, December 9th at 7 p.m. at Dunleavy's Pub (2213 Middle St # B, Sullivan's Island, SC).
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
  • If the Bulldogs win, it would be their first home win over the Cougars since Jan. 24, 2009 (72-63).
  • If The Citadel loses, it would be its 13th straight loss to The College.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
  • For the Bulldogs, #10 Brody Fox leads the team in scoring with 19.0 ppg and a 66% field goal percentage after netting 25 on Sunday vs NC A&T.
  • For the Cougars, #10 Ante Brzovic paces the Cougars attack with 27.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg while averaging 36.4 minutes per game.
THEY CAN PLAY HERE...
  • The Bulldogs trio of Division III transfers, Adams (5.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg), Fox (18.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 65.7 FG%) and Glover (12.3 ppg) are more than holding their own against The Citadel's three D1 foes this year.
FAMILIAR FOES
  • This duo met 32 times during The College's stint in the Southern Conference from1998-2013, with the Cougars winning 26 of them.
  • Today marks the third straight year the local schools will clash, coinciding with Coach Conroy's return to the Holy City. Prior to the rekindling of the rivarly, the schools separated by less than three miles took a hiatus for five seasons from 2017-21. 
  • A.J. Smith makes his return to McAlister Field House after leading the Bulldogs in scoring a season ago (16.2 ppg).
  • After a pair of seasons at The Citadel, the junior has started three games for The College, averaging 18.6 minutes and 6.7 ppg.
