St. Andrews Comes to Town on Tuesday

GAME NOTES

COACHES SHOW
  • The first men's basketball coaches show will take place on Monday, December 9th at 7 p.m. at Dunleavy's Pub (2213 Middle St # B, Sullivan's Island, SC).
LAST TIME OUT vs CofC (11.20.24)
  • With The Citadel leading 7-6, CofC used a 19-0 run over a 6:08 stretch to open up a 25-7 edge.
  • The Bulldogs answered with a 14-2 spurt, capped off by a Davis 3-pointer, to trim the margin to eight, 27-19, at the under-8 timeout.
  • A Smith make from beyond the arc nudged the margin back to double-digits, 37-25, as the Cougars led 41-27 at intermission.
  • A CofC and-1 extended the edge back to 18, 54-36, at the 13:19 mark.
  • The Cougars pushed the differential to over 20-points before a pair of Glover 3-pointers kept the Bulldogs within striking distance, 66-52, with 6:06 remaining.
  • This time CofC responded with an 8-2 spurt to go back up 20, 74-54, with 2:38 left in the contest.
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
  • If the Bulldogs win, they would reach four wins in the month of November for the second straight season.
  • If The Citadel loses, it would be under .500 at the Thanksgiving break for the second consecutive year.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
  • For the Bulldogs, #10 Brody Fox leads the team in scoring with 18.7 ppg and a 63.6% field goal percentage.
  • For the Knights, #13 Mateu Escamilla paces the Knights offense with 18.2 ppg and has scored at least 18 points in three of the last four games.
DAVIDSON'S DIMES
  • The transfer from Lipscomb had a career-high six assists versus the Cougars last week.
  • For the season, the sophomore is averaging 4.0 assist per game in 25 minutes a night.
BATTLE OF THE BOARDS
  • Division III transfer John Adams has grabbed eight rebounds in 3-of-6 games this season.
  • The Bulldogs have outrebound their opponent in 4-of-6 games this year, winning three of those.
TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS
  • The Citadel is 6-0 in the last two-plus seasons against non-D1 foes.
  • They have won those six contests by an average of 28.7 ppg.
