NASHVILLE, TENN. – The Citadel basketball team started off slow shooting from the floor and were unable to get back in it as the Vanderbilt University Commodores won on Wednesday night.
Colby McAllister led the Bulldogs with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting while
Brody Fox had nine points and four boards.
Sola Adebisi added eight and six rebounds.
First Half:
- Vandy raced out to a 12-2 lead at the first media timeout.
- A Commodores 7-0 run extended the margin to 25-6 at the 9:03 mark.
- Adebisi's jumper with 4:55 to go made it a 35-13 game in favor of Vandy but the Commodores counterpunched with an 11-0 run to push the difference to 46-13.
- McAllister's 3-pointer with less than a minute to go cut the deficit to 49-21 as the Bulldogs trailed by that score at the half.
Second Half:
- Fox beat his man on the baseline for a dunk five minutes into the second half.
- A Keynan Davis layup made it a 67-32 affair at the 11:14 mark.
- Dante Kearse hit a pair of threes in the final minutes to close things out.
