WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – One school record, six event winners, and seven top-ten finishes for The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams at the JDL Team Challenge.
Karmen Williams placed second in the weight throw with a PR toss of 56-01.00, breaking the school record set by Hall of Famer Stephanie McNeil of 55-11 in 2007. Williams sits in second place in the Southern Conference.
On the Men's Side
- Bradlee Jones finished in the top spot in the 60m dash with a time of 6.99, which makes him tenth all-time in program history.
- Treonte Newton placed first in the 400m dash with a time of 50.80.
- Jordan Chestnut and Stephen Kraeling both tied for first place in the high jump; both cleared 6-04.25. Chestnut now sits at the tenth spot all-time.
- Chestnut placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 45-05.75
- McConnell Burdette cleared 6-00.50 to earn the fifth spot in the high jump.
- Charles Campbell recorded a time of 53.17 to earn sixth overall in the 400m.
- Alex Wulfhorst ran 9:03.75 to finish in sixth in the 3000m.
- Dylan Thompson ran a PR of 7.11 in the 60m dash to finish seventh place. Thompson also finished tenth in the 200m with a time of 23.17.
- Jared finished in seventh place in the 800m with a time of 2:00.42
On the Women's Side
- Gabby Shea took the top spot in the 800m with a PR time of 2:21.97. Shea now moves into fourth spot all-time.
- Maret Elgren ran a PR of 10.44.51 in the 3000m to earn first overall. Elgren now sits in the sixth spot all-time in program history.
- Emily Danielsson placed third in the weight throw with a PR toss of 51-09.25, securing the sixth spot all-time.
- Jada Pate was fourth in the triple jump with 35-3.75, earning the second spot all-time.
- Danielle Williams recorded a time of 1:04.01 to finish fourth overall in the 400m.
- Darrian Cole ran a time of 11:58.37 to finish seventh in the 3K.
