SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Citadel men's tennis team battled back from losing the doubles point to tie the match at 3-3 before ultimately losing the last singles match of the day in three sets to fall to Wofford College 4-3 in its SoCon opener on Saturday afternoon.

- WOF swept the doubles matches to take the lone point.
- Hayden Shoemake made quick work of his 1-singles opponent, winning 1-and-1.
- At 3-singles, Teo Cariov won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, before WOF won at 6 and 5-singles to retake a 3-2 lead.
- Sebastian Kamieniecki responded from a 0-6 loss in the opening set to win by the same score in the second. The third set came down to a tiebreaker where Kamieniecki prevailed 7-3 to win the 2-singles match 0-6, 6-0, 7-6 (7-3).
- Noah Van Dyke took the first set at 4-singles 7-5 but dropped the second 4-6. His Terriers opponent bested him in the third set tiebreaker, 6-2, as the Bulldogs lost their second match of the season that came down to the final singles point.
