eCHATTANOOGA, TENN. - The Citadel men's tennis season came to an end on Thursday as it fell to the 2-seeded Samford Bulldogs in The SoCon Tennis Championships Quarterfinals, 1-4.

SAMFORD 4, THE CITADEL 1

Samford took the top two doubles flights to win the point while Noah Van Dyke / Lucas Robins won 6-4 at 3-doubles.
Sebastian Kamieniecki pushed his 2-singles foe to an extra game in the opening set (5-7), but lost the momentum in set two, falling 1-6.
At 5-singles, Robins dropped the match 2-6, 1-6 as Samford pulled within a point of clinching the match at 3-0.
Teo Cariov staved off elimination for The Citadel as he won in a pair of close sets, 7-5, 6-4, at 3-singles.
At 6-singles, Ted Bagwell won the opening set 6-3 but his opponent responded to win 6-0 and force a third set. Unfortunately for The Citadel, Samford won the third set, 6-2, to clinch the match, 4-1, with both remaining singles matches left unfinished early in their third sets.
