CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams are set to open up the 2025 indoor track season with the Gamecock Opener, hosted by the University of South Carolina on January 11.

The field events begin at 11:00 a.m. with the men's high jump, followed by the women's high jump. The running events start at noon, with the men's 3K and the women's 60m at 12:30 p.m.
 
On the Men's Side

• The men return 20 members for the 2025 season, with 18 newcomers to the squad.
• The Bulldogs have four graduate students on the team: Andrew Granger (VMI), Ridge Dowe (South Carolina), Dillion McCarthy (South Carolina), and Carson Tillman (Clemson).
• Jordan Chestnut, Bradlee Jones, Dylan Thompson, and Jack Weil are returning for their sophomore campaign after being named to the All-Freshman Team during the 2024 South Conference Indoor Championships.

 
On the Women's Side

• The women have 11 returning members for the 2025 season, with nine newcomers to the squad.
• The Bulldogs have five graduate students on the team: Emily Danielsson, who competed last year for the Bulldogs returns. Alliann Johnson (Jacksonville), Riley Lair (Clemson), Emily Pierontoni (South Carolina), and Eryn Tufts (Dominican University of California). Eryn was a member of The Citadel soccer team.
• Danielsson finished second in the weight throw with a PR toss of 54-4.75 to take second in the 2024 Southern Conference Indoor Championships.
