CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Citadel men's basketball team battled throughout Friday night's matchup but came up short in key stretches, resulting in a 100–92 road setback inside The Coliseum.
The group generated balanced scoring in the first half, highlighted by
Marcos Gonzales' early production and three made three-pointers from
Keynan Davis.
Despite shooting 45.5 percent and creating quality looks in the halfcourt, the visitors entered halftime down 47–39.
Several pushes were made after the break.
Christian Moore scored on back-to-back possessions to cut the deficit to three early.
A late stretch featuring baskets from
Eze Wali and a corner three from
Sola Adebisi brought the score to 92–84 inside the final two minutes. West Georgia ultimately closed the game at the free-throw line.
The effort continued throughout the second half, with consistent drives to the paint and multiple scoring opportunities created, but West Georgia's rebounding advantage helped the Wolves maintain control down the stretch.
Davis finished with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Gonzales added 14 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, while Adebisi posted 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Wali also added 11 points and 2 steals, and Moore contributed 9 points and 5 rebounds.
As a team, the Bulldogs shot 34-of-70 (48.6 percent) from the field, 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) from three-point range, and 15-of-21 (71.4 percent) at the line, while turning the ball over only eight times and assisting on 20 of their 34 made baskets.
