MBB Preview: Bulldogs Set for Road Opener at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Citadel men's basketball team has its road opener Thursday evening, taking on Boston College inside Conte Forum. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. (ET), and the game is available to watch on ACC Network Extra.

Scouting The Citadel
The Bulldogs (1–0) opened the season with a 105–61 win over Erskine on Monday night at McAlister Field House. The Citadel shot 45.6 percent from the floor, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line while recording 24 assists on 36 made baskets. The team's 21 made three-pointers tied for the third-most in program history, while its 59 attempts set a new single-game record, surpassing the previous mark of 51 against Mid-Atlantic Christian on Nov. 12, 2018.

Senior forward Sola Adebisi led the team with 15 points on perfect shooting and added five rebounds and five steals. Keynan Davis and Logan Applegate each finished with 11 points, while junior Cassius Bonjasky posted seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Head coach Ed Conroy, now in his eighth season overall leading the Bulldogs, guided a balanced effort on both ends of the floor in the opener. His team forced 18 turnovers and held Erskine to 43 percent shooting while controlling the glass with a 50–26 rebounding advantage and a 44-point margin of victory.

Donald Hand Jr. led the Eagles with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Boden Kapke added 17 points and eight boards. Fred Payne chipped in eight points and a game-high seven assists.

The Eagles shot 41.8 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three-point range but converted only 50 percent of their free throws. The program is led by head coach Earl Grant, who enters his fourth season guiding the team.
