COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track & field teams posted a strong day of completion at the Gamecock Challenge, securing a pair of individual wins along with three school records and 11 Top Ten showings Saturday at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex.
On the Men's Side
- Bradlee Jones qualified third in the 60m with personal best 6.79 mark, clinching the second all-time spot within the school record books. Additionally, the sophomore followed up with a 6.70 to win the meet and break the program mark, previously held by Josiah Johnson at 6.76.
- Carson Tillman broke the Stephen Kulick school record with a time of 1:22.10 to finish seventh overall in the 600m as well.
- Jack Scott jumped a personal record in the pole vault behind a 14-9 bound, moving up to the fourth spot within the program annals.
- Ridge Dowe finished sixth in the weight throw with a 51-11 toss, good for a PR as well as the ninth-best position all-time.
- Tyler Caron clocked a 1:30.32 in the 600m, shifting him into the ninth spot all-time.
- The DMR squad composed of Wyatt Carey, Noah Casa, Jared Campbell and Owen Sharnas slid in at eighth via an 11.01.01 mark.
- Weil posted a new personal recipe in the weight throw with 48-10.25 while William Owens logged a PR of his own at 46-10.
- Sam Seifert notched a personal best with 44-0.5 vault.
- Brett Cobb posted a new personal best in the 800 with 2:01.48.
- William Owens picked up a new PR in the shot put with a 42-10.75 throw.
On the Women's Side
- Emily Pierontoni broke the school record in the 1000m with 2:58.32, winning the event in the process.
- Eryn Tufts ran 3:16.71 to lock down the seventh overall position on the school top ten list.
- Riley Lair registered a new PR in the weight throw with 46-9, moving up to seventh on the all-time list.
- Alli Johnson clocked a 26.00 mark, good for 11th overall in the school record book.
- Finally, Tamia Levine picked up the ninth overall spot in the long jump behind a 15-6.5 bound.
