The Citadel Look to Spoil Catamounts Senior Day on Saturday

GAME NOTES

BEYOND THE BARRACKS

LAST TIME OUT vs Wofford (2.12.25)
  • The Citadel began the second stanza on a 13-4 run, capped by Adebisi three as the Bulldogs took a six-point lead, 44-38.
  • A Fox layup held the edge at seven, 51-44 before a pair of Wofford triples contributed to a 10-2 spurt that put the Terriers back ahead 54-53 at the eight-minute mark.
  • A timely 3-ball by Moore gave the Bulldogs a four-point edge, 66-62, with 1:29 to go but extra opportunities by the Terriers led to pair of Wofford free throws, 66-64 with 28 seconds left.
  • The Terriers had a pair of fouls to give before sending The Citadel to the line with 10 ticks remaining, but the Bulldogs missed the front end before fouling Tripp on the final possession.
  • Tripp calmly knocked down both, but The Citadel had a chance with 3.4 seconds remaining. Moore would get a decent look from the half-court line, but it banked off the glass, the inside of the rim and out sending the game to overtime.
  • Adebisi's paint floater knotted the game at 70-70, three minutes into the extra session before making 1-of-2 from the line to go ahead 71-70 (:48 seconds).
  • Wofford's second chance tip-in gave it a one-point lead as Moore missed a contested three on the ensuing possession and had to foul.
  • The Terriers knocked down both from the line, 74-71, with five seconds on the clock as the Bulldogs came up empty on the final possession to fall at home.

FIRST TIME AROUND (1.25.25)
  • A pair of 3-pointers in the first 70 seconds of the half by Adebisi and Davidson pulled The Citadel within three before another long ball by the former trimmed the margin to one, 40-39.
  • The Catamounts countered with a 13-2 run to open up a 53-41 differential at the 13:27 mark.
  • This time The Citadel responded with an 11-0 run, including going 5-of-5 from the line to make it a one-point affair, 53-52, midway through the second half.
  • WCU quickly nudged the lead back to six, 58-52, but The Citadel kept it within two possessions before Moore's three-ball put the Bulldogs ahead 66-65 with 4:28 to go.
  • The teams traded the lead once each before a WCU free throw knotted the contest at 70-70 with 1:35 remaining
  • Fox was fouled and made 1-of-2 from the charity stripe with 32 seconds on the clock but The Citadel fouled on its' next defensive possession and WCU would make both to go up one, 72-71 with 14 seconds remaining,
  • Once again, Fox was fouled and made the back end of the pair, tying the game at 72-72 with seven seconds left before the Catamounts missed a jumper at the buzzer, sending the game to overtime.
  • A pair of free throws by Glover followed by a Davidson bucket put The Citadel ahead 76-72 a minute and a half into the extra session.
  • Second chance opportunities got WCU on the board before a 3-pointer pulled it within one, 78-77, with 2:10 to go.
  • The Catamounts took the lead on a jumper on their next trip down the court (1:24), while the Bulldogs missed a shot on their ensuing possession,
  • WCU kept the door open with a turnover but another miss from the floor by The Citadel forced them to foul with seven seconds left.
  • The Catamounts made 1-of-2 from the line to go up two, 80-78, giving the Bulldogs an attempt as time expired that didn't go as WCU escaped with the road win.
BRODY IS BALLIN
  • Fox has double-digit point performances in 12-of-13 league games this season, and leads the team in scoring on the season at 16.1 ppg while shooting 50.2 percent from the floor.
  • The UW-Stout transfer and D3 All-American has scored over 1,800 points (1814) in his collegiate career and has paced The Citadel in scoring 15 times this season.
MOORE PLEASE
  • Christian Moore scored a season-high 19 points on Wednesday.
  • He has scored at least 15 points in five of the last six games.
FREE WALI
  • The freshman guard has started the past three games for the Bulldogs averaging 24.3 minutes and just four total turnovers while serving as the best on ball defender.
  • Eze Wali had his best game as the defacto point guard for The Citadel versus Wofford with five assists.
SOCON RANKS
  • John Adams is 11th in league play in field goal percentage at 55.0%.
  • Brody Fox is T-8 in scoring at 15.5 ppg and T-10 in steals at 1.4 per game.
  • Sola Adebisi is T-6 in blocks at 1.0 and  T-15 in rebounding a 5.0.
