Bulldogs Travel to Red Hot Mocs on Saturday

GAME NOTES

BEYOND THE BARRACKS

LAST TIME OUT vs Mercer (2.19.25)
  • An 8-0 Bulldogs spurt gave them an early 16-6 lead at 11:54 mark of the opening session.
  • Mercer responded out of the timeout with a 9-0 run of its own to cut the deficit to one, 16-15.
  • A Bears 3-pointer broke a 24-24 tie with 1:55 left to play as Mercer held a 29-25 edge at the break.
  • Moore's 3-pointer cut the deficit to one, 31-30, but Mercer responded with the next five to go ahead 36-30.
  • Paxton Davidson found Moore for another wing three, once again pulling The Citadel within one, 38-37, five minutes into the second half.
  • A Mercer dunk extended the margin to five, 48-43, at the nine-minute mark before a Bears layup nudged the difference to eight, 53-45, leading to a Bulldogs timeout with 5:31 remaining.
  • A pair of Sola Adebisi free throws chopped the margin in half, 55-51, but the Bears took advantage of an offensive rebound on their next possession, 57-51, before both teams went scoreless over the next 2:08.
  • After the Bulldogs missed a 3-pointer, The Citadel had to foul and Mercer made 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to win 62-52.
FIRST TIME AROUND (1.4.25)
  • Glover's 3-ball knotted the game at 15-15 at the 12:39 mark of the first half.
  • The Mocs responded with a 22-9 stretch, capped off by a three-pointer which was followed by a steal and score to force a Bulldogs timeout, trailing 37-24 with 3:15 to go until halftime.
  • The Citadel trimmed the margin back to 10 but UTC answered once again to hold a 42-30 lead at the break.
  • A UTC three-point play pushed the lead to 15, 49-34, four minutes into the second half.
  • Another Glover 3-pointer stamped a 9-0 Bulldogs run to cut the deficit back to single digits, 51-43 and force a Mocs' timeout.
  • Back-to-back makes from beyond the arc by Keynan Davis, held the differential at nine, 63-54, before UTC used a 7-0 spurt to open up a 70-54 lead with 5:54 left to play on its way to an 81-68 road win.
BRODY IS BALLING
  • Fox has double-digit point performances in 14-of-15 league games this season, after scoring 23 points for the second straight game on Wednesday.
  • He leads the team in scoring on the season at 16.7 ppg while shooting 50.2 percent from the floor.
MOORE PLEASE
  • Christian Moore scored 14 points on Wednesday and is averaging 12.2 ppg in conference play (T-25) on 37.1% shooting from beyond the arc.
  • He has scored 14+ points in six straight games.
SOCON RANKS
  • John Adams is 12th in league play in field goal percentage at 52.1%.
  • Brody Fox is T-4 in scoring at 16.5 ppg 
  • Sola Adebisi is T-6 in blocks at 1.0 and 14th in rebounding a 5.3.
IF THIS, THEN THAT...
  • If The Citadel beats UTC, it would be the their first win in Chattanooga since 2012, have lost 11 straight.
  • If the Bulldogs lose, the Mocs would improve to 8-2 in the last 10 games in the series.
