CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel men's tennis team fell to the Furman Paladins in their home and Southern Conference opener on Saturday afternoon, 0-7.

MATCH NOTES: FURMAN 7, THE CITADEL 0

• The Citadel was swept in doubles although Noah Van Dyke / Reece Beckendorf battled the top Furman flight, falling 4-6.
• Ted Bagwell and Bradey Minnich won the most games in singles, seven each, with the former forcing an extra game (5-7) in his second set.
• Three freshmen, Nick Stroumpis, Beckendorf, and Anthony Osipov played at 4,5 and 6-singles respectively, all falling in straight sets.

The Citadel will head to Chapel Hill next Saturday to play two matches with the Tar Heels.
